Wow. This series just gets better and better. I'm so glad I've discovered it and stuck with it. Even though this book ends on another cliffhanger (and we have to wait a few months before the next instalment - aagh!) I'm so satisfied with how we left Dex and Perry. Although all may not have been forgiven and forgotten yet (and rightfully so) and despite the immediate challenges facing them in the next book, atleast they're back in each other's lives. Sort of.
Whilst Dex is missing from a large part of this book, we get a better insight into Perry's growth and strength. I loved that she didn't run back to Dex and stood her ground so firmly. I really enjoyed Perry's journey in this book. Her attempt to claw back a normal, independent life after losing everything important to her (her friend, mentor and love). It's exactly the reaction we've come to expect from fiercely independent, determined Perry. We experience everything Perry goes through: love, loss, regret, heartbreak, hate, hurt, revenge and perhaps forgiveness and resolve. But ultimately we discover how much Perry and Dex need each other and belong together. Despite Dex's still unexplained behaviour in the last book, they are bound to each other,
hearts like magnets. Atleast that's how I came away feeling.
Some questions are answered, mysteries are partially unravelled whilst even more are introduced. All in all, this series is guaranteed to leave you wanting more of Dex and Perry and their kooky ghostly adventures.
