Ok Ms Halle, you’ve done it again. This was just as satisfying as every other damn instalment in this series! I had to endure some pretty rough moments but just like Lying Season and On Demon Wings it was so worth it.
The scare factor is just as strong in this one, maybe a little less so than Dead Sky Morning but still suspenseful. Karina keeps the chemistry teetering on just the right level between Dex and Perry. Even when Perry is denying her feelings for Dex there is still this constant burning attraction between them.
Into the Hollow has all the satisfying highs and lows of Lying Season. The lows however gutted me. I almost had to put the book down around 80% because I couldn’t even fathom them going down that path. For me, Dex and Perry are all or nothing. Theirs is not a relationship that will ever slide back into the “just friends” category. I don’t believe either of them could handle it. Though I guess we have to (reluctantly) endure the gut wrenching and heartbreaking lows to really appreciate the highs. I relished the highs – particularly this new and honest in-touch-with-his-feelings Dex. Phwoar, it was hot.
We were given a few little snippets of what may be coming up in the next few books and there are still mysteries aplenty which remain unexplained and unresolved. I’m really looking forward to discovering more about Dex’s mum as well as his newly acquired super strength, Perry’s new gift and Maximus’s role in all this. And Ada, can’t forget Ada.
There are still three books to go in this series but I’m already upset thinking it’s going to end one day. I am going to cherish every moment I get to spend with Dex and Perry cos they’re such a unique book couple and I love them both equally (maybe Dex a little more).
If you haven’t already jumped on the bandwagon with this series then you should. It will be so worth it. It's only a matter of time before this series explodes.
