there's more to life than reading books

“What she was finding also was how one book led to another, doors kept opening wherever she turned and the days weren't long enough for the reading she wanted to do.”

Mind Games - Carolyn Crane Everybody loves Justine. Except me apparently.

So my main problem with this book is Justine, I just don’t seem to like her that much. And that has probably clouded my view of the rest of the book. Admittedly at first, I found her a little bit quirky with her hypochondria and whatnot (that was an original storyline) but once she got over it I thought she was boring and self-absorbed. She doesn't have the self-deprecating, kick-ass attitude I usually love in a UF heroine (I’m thinking Chess Putnam, Katniss, Kate Daniels etc).

So far, she strings along one guy, crushes on another, flirts with others. I don’t mind a book having more than one love interest but at least cap it at two and make the heroine at least deserving of the extra male attention. That is all for now. Rant over.
